Jean Baptiste Arban's fundamental method book for trumpet, originally published in 1864, has remained a cornerstone in trumpet studies for over a century. In 1936, two renowned trombonists of their time, Charles Randall and Simone Mantia, adapted and expanded the method for trombone, laying the foundation for trombone studies for the next 75 years.

Today, Alan Raph takes the Arban method into the 21st century, enriching and enlarging the complete Arban text while incorporating contemporary skills and techniques developed up to the present day. Several sections, such as scales and arpeggios, have been expanded, and new sections, like slide drills and modern forms of double and triple tonguing, have been introduced. The inclusion of alternate positions has been updated and extended, even providing F-attachment positions to facilitate smoother slide movements.

Raph's outstanding edition goes further by offering an online audio resource with Mp3 accompaniments to the 12 Celebrated Fantasies and Airs Variés, performed by John Walker, making it a comprehensive instructional package for trombone students. This edition spans 359 pages and carries on the legacy of Jean Baptiste Arban's invaluable contribution to brass instrument education.

Most orders are dispatched via Australia Post, Toll & Couriers Please. Orders are delivered typically within business hours only. Please allow 1-2 days for handling and 1 to 9 business days for delivery, depending on your selected shipping service. If you have not received your parcel within this time, please get in touch with us and we will open an enquiry for you. 

It is your responsibility to ensure that the correct delivery address is provided. Express Shipping is available. Please allow 1 day for handling and 2 to 2 working days for delivery, or longer for remote areas. Music2u will not replace any lost or delayed Australia Post items if the Economy Shipping option is selected at checkout. 

Our Shipping Options Include:

  • Untracked Shipping is an untracked shipping option offered through Australia Post with a Priority stamp. No tracking number is provided with this service. Please allow 4-7 business delays for delivery of your order. 

  • Standard Shipping is a fully tracked service offered through Australia Post, Toll or Couriers Please. A tracking number will is provided once your order is shipped. Please allow 2-6 business days for delivery of your order. NT and WA customers should allow 6-8 days.

  • Express Shipping is a fully tracked Express Service offered through Australia Post/Toll Priority.  A tracking number will is provided once your order is shipped. Please allow 1-3 business days for delivery of your order. NT and WA customers should allow 3-6 days.

Tracking Your Order

You will automatically receive your tracking information via the email you provided in the checkout as a tracking link. You can see the status of your parcel's journey there. If your parcel is taking longer than expected, let us know so we can locate your order. If selecting Economy Shipping, you will receive an email confirmation to notify you that your order has been shipped from our warehouse. You will not receive a tracking number for this service. 

Pre Orders

Please note that all 'single' pre-order books that arrive back in stock will ship via the standard Australia Post untracked service. The items that are in-stock will ship via your selected method at checkout, pre-orders will ship un-tracked when they arrive as to not incur an additional shipping fee.
