The Hal Leonard Bass Method is a comprehensive instructional book designed for beginners learning to play the electric bass. This method book incorporates years of teaching experience and incorporates effective teaching approaches from bass instructors worldwide. The second edition has been thoroughly revised, featuring new engravings and photos to enhance the learning experience.

Book One: Covers essential topics and techniques for bass players. It begins with important fundamentals such as tuning, playing position, and familiarising students with musical symbols. Students will then learn to play notes within the first five frets, common bass lines, patterns, and rhythms. The book progresses to introduce rhythms through eighth notes and provides playing tips and techniques to improve skills.

The audio, accessed online, includes 44 full-band tracks for demonstration or play-along.  The audio files include PLAYBACK+, a multi-functional audio player that allows you to slow down audio without changing pitch, set loop points, change keys, and pan left or right.

What sets this method book apart is the inclusion of over 100 popular songs, riffs, and examples that serve as practical exercises and reinforce the concepts being taught. It is your responsibility to ensure that the correct delivery address is provided. Express Shipping is available. Please allow 1 day for handling and 2 to 2 working days for delivery, or longer for remote areas. Music2u will not replace any lost or delayed Australia Post items if the Economy Shipping option is selected at checkout.

  • Standard Shipping is a fully tracked service offered through Australia Post. A tracking number will is provided once your order is shipped. Please allow 2-6 business days for delivery of your order. NT and WA customers should allow 6-8 days.

  • Sendle Courier is a courier service provided to most areas in Australia with deliveries being handled by Couriers Please and Aramex. Please allow 2-8 business days for delivery of your order.

  • Express Shipping is a fully tracked Express Service offered through Australia Post/Toll Priority.  A tracking number will is provided once your order is shipped. Please allow 1-3 business days for delivery of your order. NT and WA customers should allow 3-6 days.

Tracking Your Order

You will automatically receive your tracking information via the email you provided in the checkout as a tracking link. You can see the status of your parcel's journey there. If your parcel is taking longer than expected, let us know so we can locate your order. If selecting Economy Shipping, you will receive an email confirmation to notify you that your order has been shipped from our warehouse. You will not receive a tracking number for this service. 

Pre Orders

Please note that all 'single' pre-order books that arrive back in stock will ship via the standard Australia Post untracked service. The items that are in-stock will ship via your selected method at checkout, pre-orders will ship un-tracked when they arrive as to not incur an additional shipping fee.
