Sir George Ivan Morrison OBE, known professionally as Van Morrison, is a Northern Irish singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose recording career spans seven decades. He has won two Grammy Awards. Van Morrison has sold over 16,037,000 albums, including 11,792,000 in the United States and 2,620,000 in the United Kingdom.  Much of Morrison's music is structured around the conventions of soul music and early rhythm and blues.
