Violin Mix Book 2 Grades 1 To 2 Violin/Piano is the second volume of the original series called Violin Mix, which offers new arrangements for violin. It provides attractive repertoire at Grades 1 to 2, encompassing various styles. The book includes well-known music such as 'Autumn' from The Four Seasons and 'Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious' from Mary Poppins, as well as new tunes like 'Gavotta' by Ignatius Sancho and the traditional American song 'Let us chase the squirrel'.

This series, compiled by string specialists Kathy and David Blackwell, covers both the musical and technical aspects of the early grades. It comes in three progressive volumes. Many of the arrangements featured in the book are also included in the ABRSM Violin syllabus from 2024. Additionally, these pieces are suitable for Performance Grade exams. The book provides piano accompaniments for every piece and also includes violin accompaniments and guitar chords for many pieces, offering flexibility for students and teachers.

The authors, Kathy and David Blackwell, have music backgrounds from the University of Edinburgh. Kathy pursued further studies at the University of Oxford and focused on string teaching and writing educational music. David has experience in music publishing and has composed and arranged a wide range of music, including choral and organ compositions, as well as educational music for strings, piano, and other instruments. Together, they have written the award-winning String Time series published by Oxford University Press. They have been honored with the UK's Music Industries Association award for Best Education Publication twice, and in 2017, they received an ESTA UK award for their exceptional services to string teaching.
