'Highland King: 44 Lute Pieces in Standard Notation & Original Lute Notation in French Tablature' is a collection featuring guitar arrangements of 44 lute pieces presented in both standard notation and the original French lute tablature.

The music is drawn from three significant lute manuscripts: The Rowallan Lute Book (c. 1620), The Wemyss Lute Book (c. 1644-1648), and The Balcarres Lute Book (c. 1700). These manuscripts were originally written for 10-course and 11-course lutes, with d minor tuning.

The titles retain the original spelling, adding a touch of historical authenticity while remaining readable. Intermediate-level players will find these pieces excellent for sight-reading, though the added ornamentation provides an extra challenge. The book spans 120 pages.
