Stringtastic Cello Book 1 (Book and Online Audio)

57 Imaginative Pieces Designed to Secure Playing Technique & Build Confidence whilst Exploring a Variety of Music Styles

Level: Early Elementary

Stringtastic Cello Book 1 (Book and Online Audio) offers an engaging and fun way for early elementary cello students to build their skills. With 57 imaginative pieces, this book helps students develop secure playing techniques while exploring a variety of musical styles. It takes students from learning the notes of the D major scale to achieving Grade 1 proficiency.

Part of the fully integrated Stringtastic series, this book allows cello, violin, viola, and double bass players to learn and play together in any combination. The equal-level duets make it perfect for individual lessons, group tuition, flexible ensembles, and classroom settings.

Each piece is accompanied by exciting backing tracks and a piano-only version for practice, all available for download. The teacher's accompaniment book includes complete piano scores that work seamlessly with any combination of instrumental parts. A fantastic resource for building technique and confidence in young cellists. 40 pages.

Review:

Mark Wilson and Paul Wood have developed an engaging and accessible new series of string-playing method books… The presentation will appeal to young learners, and the careful, well-conceived pedagogy will thrill their teachers! Furthermore, the Stringtastic integrated approach gives proper deference to the social aspect of music-making by allowing violinists, violists, cellists, and bassists to play together from the start. I look forward to sharing this method with my young students and colleagues in early music education. - Dr. Mark Elliot Bergman, Director of Strings and Orchestral Studies, Sheridan College.
