Stringtastic Violin Book 2 (Book and Online Audio)

62 Imaginative Pieces Designed to Secure Playing Technique & Build Confidence whilst Exploring a Variety of Music Styles

Level: Early Elementary - Elementary

Stringtastic Violin Book 2 (Book and Online Audio) offers an exciting, engaging way for early elementary students to advance their violin skills. With 62 imaginative pieces, this book builds on the foundation of Stringtastic Book 1, guiding students from Grade 1 to Grade 2 while exploring a variety of musical styles.

Part of the fully integrated Stringtastic series, this book allows violin, viola, cello, and double bass players to learn and play together in any combination. The equal-level duets are perfect for both individual lessons and group tuition, making it a versatile resource for classroom and ensemble settings.

Each piece comes with an exciting backing track and a piano-only version for practice, available for download. The accompanying teacher’s book provides complete piano scores adaptable to any instrumental combination, ensuring a seamless learning experience. A must-have for young violinists looking to strengthen their technique and confidence. 44 pages.

Review:

Mark Wilson and Paul Wood have developed an engaging and accessible new series of string-playing method books… The presentation will appeal to young learners, and the careful, well-conceived pedagogy will thrill their teachers! Furthermore, the Stringtastic integrated approach gives proper deference to the social aspect of music-making by allowing violinists, violists, cellists, and bassists to play together from the start. I look forward to sharing this method with my young students and colleagues in early music education. - Dr. Mark Elliot Bergman, Director of Strings and Orchestral Studies, Sheridan College.
